CP-AES and ICP-MS Training Series
CETAC Technologies conducts twice-yearly ICP-AES/ ICP-MS continuing education series. The courses have been designed to appeal to personnel with varying backgrounds and to satisfy the continuing education requirements of quality programs. All courses are held at the CETAC office headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Course dates for 2010 are April 19-22 and September 20-23.
Course 201 (April 19-20 / September 20-21)
An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry and Laboratory Session
The course will include the concept of ICP-AES spectrometry from the physical nature of the source through the various components of the instrumentation. Other topics will include calibration, background correction, interelement effects and performance enhancers. The laboratory session will emphasize hardware components and performance parameters.
Course 301 (April 21-22 / September 22-23)
An Introduction to Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry and Laboratory Session
The components that comprise an ICP-MS instrument will be described with particular detail for those items that are not in common with ICP-AES systems. Topics such as interferences, data acquisition, sample preparation and accessories will be discussed. Laboratory demonstrations will be used to demonstrate various aspects of ICP-MS spectrometry.
Each course is a prerequisite for subsequent courses and, therefore, should be attended sequentially. However, an attendee may take the next sequential course within one year or attending the prerequisite course.
Course 201 Introduction to ICP-AES & Lab – $900
Course 301 Introduction to ICP-MS & Lab – $900
* A $100 course fee discount may be deducted for all additional attendees from the same organization
