In collaboration with other management personnel in the laboratory matrix structure, manage hospital laboratory processes, spending, develop laboratory strategy along with the Centura Laboratory Services, Medical Director and Hospital Administrators. Maintain a set of balanced scorecard metrics, lead the integration of the laboratory within the hospital environment, manage relationships of the laboratory with other hospital services, manage the lab personnel, maintain an understanding of IT systems and data sources associated with hospital laboratory services.

Minimum Education:
BS in chemical, physical, or clinical lab/medical technology

License/certification:
ASCP Certification or equivalent – required
Certified Project Manager –desirable
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt –desirable
MBA – desirable
Certified Diploma in Laboratory Medicine (ASCP) – desirable

Minimum Experience: 5 years MT or MLT experience, including 3 years hospital supervision and management

Knowledge required in job:
Metrics scorecard development, quality assurance, statistical quality control, laboratory regulations/accreditation requirements, managing complex programs in a matrix organization with accountability for measured outcomes

Skills required in job: communication skills at all levels (including business case development), team facilitation skills, problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills, multi-tasking skills, computer skills (WORD, Excel, Access, Powerpoint), analytical skills, project management skills
