Stäubli Presents its New High-Speed SCARA TS60 Robot
Stäubli has long been the industry standard in high speed and precise robotic technology ensuring the highest throughput and shortest cycle times. The introduction of the new TS60 SCARA robot represents the latest robotic innovation featuring unrivalled speed exceeding 100 picks per minute. The ever increasing demand for cleaner, faster and more precise automation solutions predestines the TS60 as an industry benchmark.
The TS60 boasts extremely fast cycle times while maintaining the well known Stäubli standard for reliability and precision. This robot features a repeatability of +/-0.01 mm. with a nominal payload of 2kg and maximum of 8kg. It has an IP54 protection class and is available in either a conventional floor mount or wall mount depending on the application requirements. In addition, there are several variations of the robot from general industrial applications to stringent cleanroom class 6 environments.
The new TS60 robot features a new innovative and extremely rigid design representing the next generation in SCARA robots. All Stäubli robots utilize the industrial proven CS8C control platform which is perfectly adapted to robotics. The CS8C employs the Stäubli user-friendly VAL3 programming language and an open architecture to provide the user with endless possibilities. Vision systems with Serial or Ethernet interface to the controller may be connected as well.
Emerging markets such as Photovoltaics / Solar as well as Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Medical Device, Plastics, Automotive, and Food to name a few are all ideally suited for the TS60 SCARA robot. Typical applications include assembly, material handling, packaging, high speed pick and place and machine tending.
According to Mr. Joe Gemma – North American Robotics Division Manager; “The new TS60 robot can handle almost any application quickly and economically. The robot has a reach of 600mm yet easily handles difficult tasks in the Photovoltaic industry that previously required delta kinematics. This new robot represents the ongoing commitment of Stäubli in setting new industry standards while providing competitively priced and reliable robotic solutions to our customers”.
